'Coral' Bowl Workshop

'Coral' Bowl Workshop
This workshop will take you through the process of creating a bowl or platter from strips of vibrant coloured sheet glass!
Play with transparent and opaque glass and learn the art of glass cutting to customise your designs and bring your visions to life, layering elements and fine-tuning your arrangements to create a striking platter.
The process of creating what we call a ‘coral’ bowl involves cutting strips or shapes from glass sheets and working with negative space to create a form which is often geometric, branching, interwoven, or layered, given form and function through ‘slumping’ the glass into a mould. Radial designs often tend to look similar to coral, which gives this variety of glass platter its name. Colourful sheet glass can be paired with frit, powder, stringers, and enamels to further enhance your composition.
Glass is a versatile and vibrant medium with an extensive range of techniques to master. This entry-level class is a great starting point to get a feel for the medium and will equip you with the basic skills needed to try out even more complex classes.
All artistic materials, tools, and safety equipment provided, simply come to the course with some inspiration and ideas in mind, and an eagerness to learn.
Please note - all of our workshops have a minimum class size of 6 and a maximum of 10. Workshops may be rescheduled if minimum attendance cannot be reached. You will be notified by email in advance, should such circumstances arise.
